Why this role exists
As Redgate grows, our finance team needs to stay ahead of increasing regulatory complexity and reporting demands. This role gives our Financial Controller a trusted technical accounting partner, someone who can lead on compliance, strengthen our controls, and make sure our financial reporting stays accurate and audit-ready while the business scales.
About Redgate
Redgate brings together people who want to do their best work in an environment built on trust, accountability, and collaboration.
We build solutions that help data professionals securely manage the data and databases their organisations depend on, a space that's only becoming more critical as systems scale, data regulations increase, and AI adoption accelerates.

By 2028, Redgate will operate as an expert-plus-agent company — domain experts amplified by AI, delivering customer value at a pace our peers can't match.
AI handles the heavy lifting. Our people control the judgement. Everyone at Redgate works with Claude, giving you access to the best AI tools from day one.
Why join our finance team?
- You'll work in a team that values technical rigour, collaboration, and quality, not just getting the numbers done.
- There's real scope to grow your skills and impact, with clear pathways and support.
- We value sustainable ways of working and give people time to improve how we do things, not just deliver against deadlines.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About The Role
This is a hands-on technical accounting role at the heart of Redgate's finance function. You'll support month end close, lead on revenue queries, and act as the bridge between our Finance Operations and FP&A teams, balancing statutory rigour with the needs of the wider business.
- You'll be the go-to person for technical accounting questions, helping the team stay aligned with best practice.
- You'll work closely with the Financial Operations team, Financial Controller and the FP&A team, with visibility across group reporting, and external audit.
- You'll take ownership of key monthly reconciliations, controls documentation, and process improvements that shape how the finance function operates.
- You'll prepare monthly group consolidations, multi-entity reporting and cashflows under FRS 102.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You're ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, with a solid grounding in financial laws and regulations including the Companies Act 2006, FRS 102, and IFRS.
- You have strong Excel skills, including SUMIFS, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and nested formulae.
- You have hands-on experience producing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss and balance sheet reconciliations.
- You can explain finance issues clearly to non-finance audiences and build strong working relationships across teams.
- You're comfortable making judgement calls in complex or ambiguous situations, and you know how to prioritise what matters most.
- You're data driven, detail focused, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
