Financial Accountant South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust
About the Role
The Financial Accountant role within the Financial Accounts and Treasury function supports month-end financial reporting, annual accounts production, and cash management duties. You will also contribute to professional development through academic study and practical experience as part of this NHS environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and submit monthly Tax, National Insurance (N.I.), and superannuation returns on time and accurately
- Draft and reconcile VAT returns monthly
- Ensure correct deductions and payments for:
- Court orders
- Trade unions
- Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVC)
- Accommodation costs
- Reconcile salary overpayments and net pay monthly
** Administrative & Cover Duties**
- Provide temporary cover for the Income and Working Capital Accountant, Assistant Treasury Accountant, or Deputy Financial Controller during their absence
- Maintain thorough records of financial reconciliations and returns to support Internal and External Audit assessments
