Financial Accountant
Financial Accountant – Permanent Opportunity (Two Roles Available)
£60,000 – £65,000 (second opportunity at £65,000 – £70,000) Hybrid (2-3 days per week) | Location: London or Manchester
Apointe has been retained to recruit two Financial Accountants for a well-established business within the professional services sector.
About the Role

Key Responsibilities
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for:
- Preparing monthly and year-end financial accounts
- Managing month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
- Producing statutory accounts and supporting audits
- Ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards and tax regulations
- Preparing VAT returns and additional financial reports
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
- Maintaining strong financial controls and improving finance processes
- Providing financial analysis to aid business decision-making
- Collaborating with auditors, tax advisers, and internal/external stakeholders
- Supporting the wider finance team and driving continuous improvement

About You – Qualifications & Experience
We’re looking for qualified finance professionals with:
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CA – CIMA considered)
- Proven experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role
- Strong knowledge of:
- Statutory reporting
- UK GAAP and/or IFRS
- Year-end reporting
- Supporting external audits
- Exceptional skills in:
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Month-end close processes
- Advanced Excel usage
- Working with ERP or financial systems
- A proactive, organised mindset
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build relationships across the business
