We're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys improving processes, partnering with stakeholders, and making a meaningful impact within a fast-paced, innovative organisation.
About the Role
You'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of Perspectum's financial reporting and compliance across the Group. You'll support statutory reporting, revenue recognition, tax, payroll oversight, audit, and month-end activities while helping strengthen financial controls and continuously improve finance processes.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with business partnering in a collaborative and ambitious environment.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for:
- Supporting the Financial Controller with day-to-day financial accounting activities and year-end audit preparation.
- Preparing statutory accounts for the UK Group and individual entities.
- Supporting the preparation of monthly and quarterly Board reporting.
- Managing the revenue recognition process, including reviewing customer contracts and supporting revenue calculations.
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations across the Group.
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
- Preparing R&D tax credit calculations and supporting UK corporation tax returns.
- Preparing monthly share option accounting.
- Reviewing UK and overseas payrolls and associated statutory filings.
- Supporting UK and US tax compliance and SOX controls.
- Documenting finance processes and strengthening internal controls.
- Providing systems support across the Finance function.
- Building strong relationships across Finance and the wider business.
- Providing leadership and support to members of the Finance team.
- Contributing to continuous improvement projects and wider finance initiatives.

About You
We're looking for someone who combines excellent technical accounting knowledge with a proactive, collaborative approach.

Essential
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
- Post-qualification experience in a financial accounting role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS 15.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts and supporting external audits.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Leadership experience or the ability to mentor and support others.
- Excellent Excel and financial systems skills.
- Knowledge of UK tax and accounting regulations.
- Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.
Desirable
- Experience within medical technology, life sciences or biotechnology.
- Experience working in a high-growth or scaling organisation.
- Knowledge of international accounting standards.
