Financial Accountant

Department: Finance

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: London

Description

The Financial Accountant will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality management and statutory reporting, support budgeting and forecasting activity, and contribute to continuous improvement within the finance function. This role is based in either our Birmingham or London office and offers broad exposure across the business, including interaction with Heads of Department, overseas finance teams, and external auditors.

The Role

A key role within the Management Accounts team, supporting accurate reporting, strong controls, and informed decision-making across the firm.

  • Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Assist with budgeting for central support departments and fee-earner groups
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis
  • Support year-end close, statutory accounts, and audit processes
  • Provide technical accounting input, including FRS 102 guidance
  • Work closely with Heads of Department and senior stakeholders
  • Contribute to finance systems improvements and ad-hoc projects

The Candidate

A technically strong, proactive accountant who enjoys working collaboratively in a professional services environment.

  • ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Background in professional services (law firm experience desirable)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and high attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
  • Experience with Elite 3E beneficial
