Financial Accountant at Two Circles – Global Sports Agency


About the Role

Two Circles is a global sports agency, bridging fans with sports properties via data. We collaborate with leading sports organisations, including the NFL, Premier League, Formula 1, Wimbledon, and UEFA—earning recognition as Sport Industry Agency of the Year four times. We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our finance team and drive the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our financial operations.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting and Compliance, this role collaborates closely with the Transactions and Financial Planning and Analysis teams. We’re looking for a hands-on professional with a meticulous mindset, analytical prowess, and a passion for the sports industry. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you’ll ensure our financial records reflect a dynamic, globally-oriented organisation—with the potential to grow and influence processes.


Responsibilities

Core Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Lead month end close activities, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Own balance sheet journals across all legal entities to reflect accurate financial positions
  • Classify accrued/deferred revenue correctly on the balance sheet and investigate aged accrued income
  • Review “work in progress” recoveries aging to guarantee timely billing or write-offs
  • Monitor and correct classifications for other balance sheet accounts like VAT, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and tax balances
  • Steward the Group Consolidation workbooks and ensure their accuracy

Reconciliation & Auditing Support

  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and bank statements, verifying all accounts are balanced and error-free
  • Serve as the primary external auditor point of contact, providing requisite documentation and support during audits

Process Improvement & Strategic Support

  • Maintain the annual compliance calendar to facilitate timely submissions for all legal entities
  • Collaborate with the Head of Financial Accounting and Compliance to develop and refine internal controls and global processes
  • Assist with treasury activities, cash-flow forecasting, and covenant reporting
  • Support tax preparation (where applicable based on experience)

Project Work & Collaboration

  • Execute ad-hoc financial projects as needed to support business objectives

Requirements

Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • Partially/nearly qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • IFRS proficiency essential for financial reporting standards
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and regulatory requirements
  • Advanced Excel expertise, including complex analyses and report generation

Practical Skills & Traits

  • Unwavering attention to detail—accuracy is non-negotiable
  • Analytical mindset, capable of synthesising data for strategic insights
  • Experience within a global business, preferred
  • Sports industry experience a bonus
