HFG are currently partnering with a leading specialist insurance organisation to recruit an ambitious Financial Accountant to join their growing London finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in financial reporting, financial control, regulatory compliance, and fiduciary accounting within a dynamic insurance business. Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Broking, Compliance, and Treasury, you’ll help strengthen the control environment while supporting the continued growth of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and continuous enhancement of the financial control framework across the business.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and a timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, including journal postings and financial reporting.
  • Support compliance with FCA CASS regulations, ensuring client money is managed and reported in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform fiduciary accounting activities, including:
    • Insurer and client account reconciliations
    • Premium and claims settlements
    • Cash management
  • Monitor and maintain robust internal controls, identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase automation.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and support the external audit process.
  • Produce management information, financial analysis, and reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Partner with colleagues across Broking, Operations, Compliance, and Treasury to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, systems enhancements, and wider projects as the finance function continues to evolve.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
