An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a large Members Organisation on a temporary basis. You will play a key role in supporting the finance team with the production of statutory accounts as well as contributing to systems reporting. The postholder will be technically focused and ideally have previous involvement of system implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal reporting requirements
- Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and documentation
- Support in improving processes across Payroll, VAT, Banking and treasury
- Oversee bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review, streamline, and automate finance processes where possible
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Provide financial insight and support to non-finance stakeholders across the Organisation

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA)
- Proven experience preparing statutory accounts for large, complex organisations
- Strong technical knowledge
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Professional, collaborative, and methodical approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement

Additional Information
- Location: Central London
- Working Pattern: Hybrid
- Day Rate: £364 per day via Umbrella Company
- Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
- Contract: 6-month initial contract, with potential extension
