Interim - Financial Accountant
Job Details
- Duration: 3 months initially
- Rate: £350 to £400 per day
- Contract Type: Inside IR35
- Location: Central London
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid Working with 3 days in the office
- Start Date: Immediate/quick start
About the Company
A well-established tech and software business has experienced recent growth and has a new requirement in the finance team for an interim to assist during a busy audit period.
Role Overview
You will be a recently qualified accountant with some experience in preparing accounts and working with auditors. You will be joining a collaborative finance team. The primary purpose of the role will include assisting with the audit, month-end close, and maintaining the cash flow forecast.
Key Responsibilities
- External Audit Support:
- Preparing audit schedules and supporting workpapers
- Investigating and Documenting:
- Balance sheet and P&L variances
- Liaising:
- Directly with the external audit team to resolve queries
- Month-End Close:
- Preparing and posting prepayment and accrual journals
- P&L and Balance Sheet Reviews:
- Providing commentary on movements versus prior month and budget
- Cash Flow Forecast:
- Maintaining and updating the rolling 13-week cash flow forecast, incorporating actuals, confirmed payments, and near-term commitments
- Ad-hoc Requests:
- Helping the finance team with ad-hoc requests
- Process Improvements:
- Delivering process improvements and identifying opportunities to make repetitive tasks more efficient

Knowledge & Experience
- Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant - ACA / ACCA/ CA
- Experience:
- Previous financial accounting experience is essential, and ideally a background in Audit.
- Skills:
- Good systems and Excel skills
- Proactive approach to improving processes
- Able to pick up tasks and new systems quickly
