The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a technically strong ACA-qualified accountant to join a rapidly growing, private equity-backed professional services business during a pivotal phase of its growth journey. This newly created business has ambitious expansion plans and a clear buy-and-build strategy, supported by significant investment and an experienced leadership team. With aggressive growth targets and a potential exit horizon of approximately three years, this is a unique opportunity to join the business at an early stage and play a key role in its evolution. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and FP&A Director, you will gain exposure to a broad range of technical accounting, financial control, and commercial finance activities while supporting the integration and scaling of newly acquired businesses and supporting their ERP implementation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
