Financial Accountant
Financial Accountant (37 hours per week, Permanent)
Location: Contractual base in Salvus House, Durham with hybrid working opportunities Salary range: £38,372 – £47,961 (pro-rated) plus a discretionary bonus potential of up to 8% of annual salary Job Level: C Reports to: Finance Manager

The Role in a Nutshell
The Financial Control team at Wave is responsible for:
- Managing the company’s financial control framework
- Producing monthly & annual financial reports
- Maintaining robust risk mitigation processes
- Handling external audit, tax compliance, and banking relationships
This Financial Accountant role focuses on:
- Daily Treasury management (cash-flow optimisation)
- Cashflow forecasting & bank reporting
- Quarterly bank audits
- Management account & VAT return preparation
- Statutory accounts assist & audit support
Ideal for candidates with experience in: ✔ Cash management & working capital control ✔ Banking/compliance-heavy environments ✔ Management accounts & financial reporting ✔ Treasury & managerial processes
What Will Your Typical Day Look Like?
- Cash position management (liaising with banks)
- Treasury policy compliance & banking agreement monitoring
- Daily/weekly/monthly cashflow forecasting (bank-required & shareholder reports)
- Quarterly bank audit coordination
- Monthly management accounts & VAT returns
- Statutory accounts preparation & audit support

Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Experience in cashflow management & working capital control (with banking arrangements)
- Hands-on financial reporting expertise
- Knowledge of statutory accounts preparation
- Strong Excel proficiency + analytical problem-solving
- Ability to design & enforce robust accounting controls
- A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
