Financial Accountant
Our Client We are working with a global, social purpose, for profit organisation focused on improving lives through the practical application of data, insight, and research. With an international footprint and a strong reputation for impact, the organisation partners with governments, businesses, and non-profits to tackle complex challenges.
The Role This is a newly created Financial Accountant position, reporting into the Global Financial Controller. The role offers broad exposure across financial accounting, statutory reporting, and international operations, with responsibility spanning the UK and select overseas entities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified ACA to make their first move into industry, gaining hands-on experience across the full accounting lifecycle in a collaborative and purpose-driven organisation.
Main Duties Support the month-end close process, including preparation of journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations across UK and international entities Liaise with external advisors in international jurisdictions to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting Assist in the optimisation and localisation of accounting systems, including supporting new entity set-up and process improvements Support the year-end audit process, preparing schedules and acting as a key contact for external auditors Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 102) and coordinate international statutory filings Prepare financial reports and support stakeholder reporting requirements Monitor global cash balances and support multi-currency cash flow forecasting Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with VAT, corporate tax, and other regulatory requirements Track and ensure completion of all relevant financial and regulatory filings Take ownership of elements of the operational accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable and exposure to Accounts Receivable and billing processes Support revenue recognition for long-term contracts in line with FRS 102 requirements Provide cover across finance operations to ensure continuity during absences Contribute to maintaining financial policies and improving processes across the finance function Support ad-hoc projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and wider operational finance activities

The Successful Candidate Newly qualified ACA (ideally from a Big 4 or Top 10 audit firm) Strong technical grounding in statutory reporting and financial accounting, including UK GAAP (FRS 102) Demonstrated understanding of financial processes, controls, and compliance requirements High level of attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders Advanced Excel skills and strong overall systems capability; experience with ERP systems is advantageous Motivated by working in a purpose-driven organisation and keen to gain broad, end-to-end exposure in a global finance role
