Financial Accountant (Immediately Available)
Location: London (Hybrid)
Contract: Interim / Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: Competitive
We're working with a fast-paced trading business looking to appoint an immediately available Financial Accountant to support the finance team through a busy period.
This is a hands-on role suited to a qualified accountant who enjoys owning the month-end process and producing accurate financial reporting in a commercial environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Ownership of the month-end close process.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory accounts.
- Balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings.
- Preparation of VAT returns and support with tax compliance.
- Assist with the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Support cash flow reporting and financial analysis.
- Work closely with operational teams to resolve accounting queries.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.

About you:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
- Experience in a Financial Accountant role within financial services.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting.
- Comfortable managing month-end with minimal supervision.
- Excellent Excel skills and experience using ERP systems.
- Proactive, organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Immediately available or available at short notice.
