Working closely with the Deputy Financial Controller, you’ll support the month-end close, statutory reporting and audit processes, while also taking ownership of treasury activities and key balance sheet areas.

This is a great opportunity to build deep expertise in financial control, gain exposure across multiple finance functions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a complex, international environment.

What You'll Do

  • Support and deliver month-end close activities across treasury, intercompany, and Ireland accounting
  • Prepare and present balance sheet reconciliations and ensure key accounts are accurate and well-controlled
  • Contribute to statutory accounts preparation and support external and internal audit processes
  • Manage treasury activities including daily bank postings, cashflow forecasting and free cash flow planning
  • Own and monitor intercompany balances across group entities
  • Ensure accurate excise duty reporting (Ireland) and compliance with regulatory submissions (ONS, CSO, etc.)
  • Manage fixed assets and depreciation within SAP for GB&I
  • Support tax reporting activities and internal control requirements (e.g. J-SOX)
  • Track and report key Order-to-Cash KPIs to drive performance improvements
  • Act as a subject matter expert on accounting standards, supporting implementation of new requirements (e.g. IFRS updates)
  • Identify and drive opportunities for process improvements and better ways of working
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Supply Chain and external auditors

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
