Financial Accountant
Financial Accountant – Trafford Park, Finance Team at Exide Technologies
At Exide Technologies, we are a leading provider of innovative energy storage solutions, powering a sustainable future through advanced battery technologies. We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Trafford Park.
About the Role
Reporting to the GA, Tax and Treasury Manager, you will play a key role in supporting General Accounting, Tax, and Treasury functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective cash management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accounting entries in line with local regulations, including taxes, insurance, and asset management
- Support monthly and annual group reporting activities
- Manage accruals, prepayments, and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare VAT and other statutory returns
- Support audits and liaise with external advisors and authorities
- Produce accurate cash forecasts and support treasury activities
- Work closely with shared service teams and internal stakeholders across the business

About You
You will ideally have:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role
- Part qualification in CIMA or ACCA (AAT qualification advantageous)
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills, with experience of ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion beneficial
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach
