Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant

£300 a day through an umbrella company (3-6 months)

Cardiff (Hybrid Working)

My client is a multi-national media company and are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their Finance Operations team.

Financial Operations

Provides professional financial support to a range of stakeholders as part of the Finance function.

Duties:

  • Manage end-to-end intercompany accounting processes, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and resolution of discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
  • Oversee intercompany cash settlement activities, ensuring timely execution of payments, receipts, netting cycles, and alignment with treasury requirements.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations supported by appropriate testing, ensuring full compliance with internal controls and our minimum expected requirements, with fully evidenced and substantiated balances.
  • Prioritise and manage workload effectively, balancing recurring deadlines with ad-hoc requests to deliver high-quality outputs within agreed timelines.
  • Collaborate with key partners and stakeholders including our outsourced partner, other finance teams, divisional and group stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Support the efficient delivery of internal and external audits.

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting expertise.
  • Proven experience in Balance Sheet reconciliations, with the ability to identify issues, investigate variances, and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage, and deliver a varied workload within tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.
  • Effective communicator able to collaborate confidently with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and wider business teams.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to robust financial controls and governance.
  • Experience working within a Finance Operations or Shared Services environment, ideally in a medium-to-large organisation.
  • Strong Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP an advantage.
