Financial Accountant | Biggleswade | £45,000-£55,000

We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established international organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant for their finance team based in Biggleswade. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly reputable business operating within a global group environment, offering exposure to statutory reporting, treasury, VAT, fixed assets and financial controls.

Your new role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the financial accounting function and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the business. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting treasury activities, VAT reporting and statutory reporting requirements
  • Preparing and posting monthly journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end close processes
  • Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register
  • Ensuring investments are authorised and accounted for correctly
  • Assisting with internal and external audits and providing supporting documentation
  • Supporting financial control processes and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Assisting with finance projects and system implementation activities
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the wider business

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification (although AAT and qualified by experience will also be considered)
  • Strong understanding of journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Experience using accounting software packages
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop
