CFO seeking an ambitious Chartered Accountant from audit
JSS partnering with a high profile SME bank on a confidential hire for a Financial Accountant within their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone from an audit background looking to move into a financial services environment. You will first hand understand how a bank works and provide you with a strong financial control framework.
Key responsibilities include:
Financial Control & Reporting
- General Ledger & Reconciliations: Maintain the integrity of the Oracle General Ledger and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments schedules.
- Month-End & Management Accounts: Prepare month-end management accounts, analyse performance against budget, and produce MI packs for ALCO and EXCO. Brief the CFO on major variances.
- Statutory & Tax Compliance: Assist with the production of financial/statutory accounts. Prepare quarterly VAT returns (in accordance with the HMRC PESM agreement) and assist with Corporation Tax returns and payments.
- Budgeting: Support the annual budgeting process, ensuring a robust audit trail for all financial assumptions.

Regulatory & Liquidity Reporting
- Daily Reporting: Produce daily liquidity returns, NSFR, Daily Capital Asset Ratio, and Large Exposures. (Full training can be provided for a candidate looking to expand their experience).
- Treasury & Risk Support: Assist in the preparation of Pillar 2 and provide quantitative inputs for ICAAP and ILAAP documentation. Support the wider Regulatory reporting team with BAU work.
Audit & Stakeholder Management
- Audit Liaison: Serve as a key point of contact for external and internal auditors. Track and manage the timely closure of audit points across the wider business.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with the team on daily P&L and Balance Sheet reviews, maintain up-to-date departmental procedures, and deliver ad-hoc analysis for the Head of Financial Control or Deputy.

Experience:
- ACA or equivalent from a practice background (small through to big 4)
- Newly qualified or up to 3 years post qualification experience ideal
- Banking, Capital Markets or alternative lending financial services audit a preference
- Wider financial services/FCA regulated secondary and non FS listed audit experience highly desirable
Notice period: Open to notice but if you have a reduced or immediate notice this will be beneficial but not a deal breaker
4 days a week in the office
£65k + discretionary bonus
