Financial Accountant - UK Entities & Shared Service
Senior Finance Accountant (IFRS & UK GAAP) – UK Non-Insurance Entities
This role combines hands-on accounting and finance expertise with responsibility for the financial planning and reporting processes for the clients’ UK non-insurance entities, as well as ownership of tax accounting and filing processes for the UK tax groups.
You will act as a trusted adviser to the Head of Finance and senior management team, providing guidance on finance, accounting, and tax across the Finance function and the wider business.
Key Objectives
- Develop robust business processes for the production of statutory and management reporting, as well as planning and forecasting mechanisms.
- Work closely with senior management teams of UK businesses to provide accurate and timely financial information and insight.
- Manage the production of VAT and Corporation Tax returns for the UK tax groups, ensuring compliance with all tax reporting and filing requirements.
- Lead the development and delivery of efficient financial processes to enable effective decision-making and performance management of the organisation.
- Be resilient and flexible, applying your knowledge and adaptability to evolving challenges.
Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Coordinate consistent and accurate accounting and financial reporting for:
- Clients’ UK holding and service companies
- IFRS, UK GAAP, and German GAAP reporting
- Planning, forecasts, and actual performance analysis
- Deliver internal financial and management reporting to Group and senior local stakeholders, including detailed analysis of financial results and drivers.
- Ensure external reporting under UK GAAP, including:
- Preparation of statutory accounts
- Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) deliverables
- Establish and maintain excellence in control, governance, and documentation across UK financial accounting, continuously improving processes.

Tax Compliance & Strategy
- Oversee UK tax compliance for all client entities:
- Income Tax and VAT calculations, returns, and payments
- Transfer pricing documentation
- Maintenance of local tax strategy
- Support the statutory audit processes for UK companies via effective finance and accounting management.
Advisorial & Liaison
- Act as a trusted financial adviser to directors and management of UK entities.
- Support the intercompany recharge process by:
- Preparing accurate allocations (compliant with Group policies)
- Maintaining clear documentation for transparent cost-sharing
- Acting as a financial liaison between UK service companies and Talanx insurance entities.
Process & Project Leadership
- Build and sustain effective cross-organisational relationships with:
- Local teams
- Group departments
- Lead UK financial accounting projects and coordinate Group-wide projects involving UK participation.
- Proactively monitor external developments impacting UK operations and devise risk mitigation strategies or opportunity exploitation.

Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Qualified accountant (preferably ACA or ACCA).
Preferred
- Experience in financial services or insurance sector.
- Strong understanding of:
- UK statutory accounting and financial reporting processes.
- UK Corporation Tax and VAT processes.
- Prior involvement in process change or optimisation.
