Financial Accountant – 18 month FTC | London (Hybrid)
I'm partnering with an insurance company on a maternity-cover contract for a Financial Accountant to sit in its UK finance function.
This is a genuinely broad, hands-on brief: you'll own the accounting, reporting, planning and tax for the group's UK holding and service companies - not the insurance underwriting entities, but the structure that sits around them. It's a role with real autonomy and visibility, acting as a trusted finance adviser to the Head of Finance and senior UK management from day one.

What you'll be doing:
- Delivering statutory and management reporting under IFRS and German GAAP for plan, forecast and actuals, with clear analysis of what's driving the numbers
- Preparing UK statutory accounts and Senior Accounting Officer deliverables
- Owning UK tax compliance - Corporation Tax and VAT returns, payments and transfer pricing documentation
- Running the intercompany recharge process and acting as the finance link between the UK service company and the wider group
- Supporting the statutory audit and driving process improvement across the UK finance deliverables

What they're looking for:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / CA / ACCA)
- UK statutory accounting and financial reporting experience
- Solid UK Corporation Tax and VAT knowledge
- Financial services or insurance background an advantage
- Someone resilient and adaptable who's comfortable improving processes in an evolving operating model
Salary - up to £80,000 + bonus + benefits
