Interim Financial Accounting & Controls Manager

Location: Bristol (Hybrid - 3 days office, 2 days home)
Rate: £450 PAYE / £515 Umbrella per day
Duration: Initial 3-6-month contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Financial Accounting & Controls Manager to join a large, complex organisation undergoing significant transformation. Working within a specialist finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring robust financial accounting, governance and controls across a major business area whilst driving process improvements, enhancing compliance and supporting best practice across the wider finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of financial accounting and controls across a designated business area
  • Preparation of technical accounting papers and support on accounting judgements
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulations and governance requirements
  • Supporting audit activity and strengthening financial control frameworks
  • Driving process improvements and contributing to a faster, more efficient month-end close process
  • Working with senior stakeholders across a large matrix organisation

About You

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Strong financial accounting and reporting experience
  • Proven background in financial controls, governance, risk and compliance
  • Experience operating within large, complex organisations
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Technical accounting expertise and experience of statutory reporting
  • SAP experience would be advantageous
