Position Summary
You’ll step into the role of **Manager (Record to Report – *RtR) within our Global Business Services (GBS) Shared Service Center – leading the Financial Controllership for five key Thermo Fisher Scientific groups across the EMEA region:
- Clinical Research Group (CRG)
- Life Science Solutions Group (LSG)
- Laboratory Products Group (LPG)
- Special Diagnostics Group (SDG)
- Analytical Instruments Group (AIG)

The team manages over $10 billion in annualised revenue for multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while overseeing a dedicated team.
You'll report to the Senior Manager – RtR and function as Head of the “Financial Accounting” team, with responsibility for:
- Overseeing accounting performance across all EMEA entities.
- Leading 7 team members while driving operational excellence, customer-centric accountability, and performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting Leadership
- Ensure timely and accurate US GAAP financial reporting for the LSG EMEA region.
- Spearhead annual financial closings, assurance testing, and other critical reporting processes.
- Work closely with Regional Controllers, Directors, and External Auditors.
People Management & Development
- Mentor, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals.
- Build a high-performance culture, rooting in customer-first principles.
- Foster continuous improvement to exceed productivity targets.
Strategic Collaboration & Training
- Serve as the primary point of contact for business units and customers on finance-related projects.
- Collaborate with internal/external departments (e.g. Treasury, Sales, Investor Relations).
- Deliver monthly business reviews and communicate analyse results.

Analytical & Compliance Oversight
- Conduct detailed financial analyses (e.g. balance sheet review).
- Provide data-driven insights to support business strategy.
- Partner with audit for SOX compliance—ensuring all controls are properly documented and implemented.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (capable of preparing and analysing financial statements).
- Expert communicator: Ability to articulate complex financial matters clearly to a range of stakeholders.
- Proven people management skills (leading teams through ownership, motivation and coaching).
- Sharp organisational & prioritisation skills—ability to effectively juggle multiple highly complex demands.
- Printricate attention to detail across all financial operations.
- Proactive mindset—drive efficiency, growth, and continuous improvement.
- Strong grounding in accounting principles, including investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP.
