Build a career through the Mattioli Woods Financial Adviser Academy.

Applications are open for our Financial Adviser Academy, a structured 12-month programme designed to take you from trainee to confident, credible financial adviser.

We deliver one of the most respected adviser development programmes in the profession through a fully salaried model, genuine one-to-one mentorship, and real client exposure under supervision.

Essential requirements

  • 2 – 3 years in customer-facing roles such as banking, sales, mortgages, or service
  • R01 exam completed, by Chartered Insurance Institute (or equivalent)
  • a clear, confident communicator with a genuine interest in helping people
  • detail-oriented, professional, and able to study independently
  • strong literacy and numeracy with comfort around technical information
  • resilient, curious, and motivated for a long-term financial planning career
  • eligible for full pre-employment checks including DBS

What is an R01?

R01 is the first of six modules towards the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning, awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). It covers the financial services industry, regulation, and ethics - giving you the foundational knowledge needed to begin your journey as an adviser.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
