HNW / UHNW Financial Adviser (IHT protection planning)
Do you thrive on the technical side of financial planning — the cases where a simple term policy just won't cut it?
We're looking for an experienced protection specialist to join our team, working with high and ultra-high net worth clients (typically £10m+ estates) on some of the most technically complex protection and inheritance tax planning cases in the market.
Want to work on high value, complex life insurance cases, rather than volume? It's a consultative, advice led position for someone who enjoys getting into the detail - trust structures, cross-border estates, large sum assured cases, and genuinely complex underwriting.
Responsibilities:
You'll act as the protection specialist within a HNW advisory team, working alongside solicitors, accountants, and private bankers to design solutions that fit into much bigger financial and tax planning pictures. Think IHT liquidity planning, estate equalisation, trust-based protection, and business protection for owner-managers - often layered with cross-border or non-UK domicile complexity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
