We’re Seeking: Financial Adviser (Technical – IHT & Inheritance Tax Specialism)
Role Overview We are looking for a highly experienced Financial Adviser to join our specialist advisory team, focusing on bespoke life insurance solutions for inheritance tax planning (IHT), business succession, and wealth structuring.
Our mandate centres around:
- High net worth (HNW) and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients (typically estates exceeding £10m).
- Complex IHT mitigation strategies, including trust planning and liquidity provision.
- Close collaboration with professional introducers (lawyers, accountants, bankers, private client advisers).
- Large sum assured, technically sophisticated protection cases.
This is not a volume sales role—it’s a consultative, technically led position that delivers high-value, advice-driven outcomes.
Key Purpose
- Design and deliver life insurance solutions within IHT and estate planning frameworks.
- Act as a trusted adviser alongside legal, tax, banking, and other professional teams.
- Manage complex, high-value cases, including:
- UK and cross-border estates.
- Non-UK residents or internationally mobile clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. High Net Worth Client Advice
- Advise clients on:
- Term life and whole of life planning for IHT liabilities.
- Trust-based protection structures.
- Family wealth preservation strategies.
- Address IHT needs beyond protection, including:
- Personal protection (life, critical illness, income protection).
- Business protection (key person, shareholder protection, loan cover, relevant life).
- Tailor solutions for:
- Estate equalisation.
- Liquidity for tax liabilities.
- Succession planning. Clients expect full-financial-position-based, long-term strategy alignment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
