The Role
About the Position
We’re seeking a highly experienced Financial Adviser to join our specialist team, delivering bespoke life insurance solutions for inheritance tax (IHT) planning, business succession and wealth structuring.
not a volume-based role but technically led, focused solely on consultative, high-value advice – this is where strategy meets effortless trust.
Our Proposition

Role Purpose
- Design and deliver high-impact life insurance solutions for IHT and estate planning
- Act as a trusted adviser, working in lockstep with legal, tax and financial professionals
- Ownership of complex, high-value cases, from underwriting discussions to placement
- Tailor protection into holistic financial strategies, ensuring client and cross-professional coherence

1. High Net Worth Client Advice
Provide IHT-optimised protection, and identify broader needs across:
- Term & Whole of Life cover tailored for IHT liabilities
- Trust-based protection structures & family wealth defence
- Business protection (Key Person, Shareholder Protection, loan coverage)
- Personal protection for critical illness & income replacement alongside tax mitigation
Note: Every solution must map to the client’s full financial position and long-term objectives.
2. Introducer-Led Relationship Model
- Engage & retain connections with private client solicitors, tax advisers, bankers and wealth managers
- Operate as a protection specialist, contributing to joint client planning
- Provide introducers with technical input, structuring insights and support for complex cases Goal: Help advisers deliver exceptional outcomes without losing the plot.
3. Expertise in Complex & Cross-Border Cases
- IHT & estate planning for international clients (assets, non-UK residence)
- Trust and legal structures that optimise tax treatment
- Underwrite high values and unique medical risks (large sums, celebrity lifestyle, etc.)
4. End-to-End Case Management
- Lead from concept to completion: Policy illustration, costs, insurer selection, underwriting, and placement
- Work with our in-house underwriting team to negotiate bespoke terms
- Ensure all evidence (financial, medical, legal) aligns underwriters’ expectations
5. Ensuring Technical Excellence
- Always adherence to FCA regulations
- Generate required suitability reports & advice documents
- Stay current on tax legislation (particularly IHT) and protection market trends
Candidate Profile
Requirements
✔ Essential:
- 10+ years’ experience in advised protection or financial planning, specialising in HNW clients
- Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) – success here requires
- Degree (Level 3 Diploma in Financial Planning highly desirable)
- Track record in large values (sums assured £5m+)

- Proven success working alongside solicitors, accountants, and trust specialists
- International clients, basic/expert exposure to cross-border IHT & estate liquidity
- Trust-based insurance structures & high-value underwriting expertise
✔ Interpersonal & Cognitive:
- Interest in tax planning and wealth structuring beyond basic protection
- Problem-solving ability with an eye for technical detail
- Trustworthy with sensitive client data (equally adept at underwriting dialogue)
Preferred
- Progress toward Chartered status (e.g. Chartered Financial Planner)
- Explore TECHNICAL & REGULATORY FCA: current qualifications + continuous professional development
