Bedford Borough Council is a fast growing unitary authority. As a key partner in the growth and development of our services, the Finance team is at the forefront of driving decisions and improving performance across various departments.

We are looking for a fully AAT qualified, enthusiastic Financial Analyst to join our Environment Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting budget holders in areas such as Housing, Parks and Open Spaces, Events, and Waste Services.
  • Assisting in the forecasting, setting of budgets, and resolving financial queries.
  • Working with the Agresso finance system to track and report financial data.
  • Collaborating across departments to improve performance and financial outcomes.
  • Communicating financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial managers.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A full AAT membership
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a broad range of services.
  • An ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information.
  • Proactive problem solving skills.
  • Local Government and Agresso experience are desirable but not essential.
