Financial Assistant 12 Month Contract

Finance Assistant | 12-Month Maternity Cover

We are collaborating with a trusted, privately owned management business to recruit a Finance Assistant to join its finance team on a 12-month maternity cover.

This role offers a hands-on, transactional opportunity within a supportive finance environment—ideal for professionals with experience in bookkeeping or accounts administration, seeking a structured and stable position.


Key Responsibilities

Transactional Finance & Processing

  • Processing and posting purchase invoices
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Posting sales ledger cash accurately and promptly
  • Processing and reconciling credit card statements and employee expenses

Accounts Administration

  • Distributing purchase invoices to relevant teams and tracking approvals
  • Managing incoming post and supporting general finance administration
  • Filing and scanning financial documents, maintaining accurate records

Month-End Support

  • Assisting with month-end processes and basic reconciliations
  • Supporting the wider finance team in maintaining accurate records

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in bookkeeping, finance assistant, or transactional finance
  • Comfortable processing large volumes of invoices, expenses, and reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach
  • Highly organised, capable of efficiently managing routine tasks
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team
  • Basic to intermediate Excel skills, with experience using finance systems (e.g., Sage)
