Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Gateshead, Tyne and Wear
Contract Type: Permanent / Part-time
Salary: c. £27,000 - £30,000 FTE
We’re working with a well-established North East manufacturer who is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their finance team. This Finance Assistant opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on finance work and takes pride in keeping day-to-day processes running smoothly. The Role – Finance Assistant
Reporting into the finance controller, the Finance Assistant will play a key part in supporting core transactional finance activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the sales ledger and invoicing process
- Credit control, aged debt follow-up and customer queries
- Supporting weekly and monthly finance reporting
- Assisting with reconciliations and maintaining accurate records
This Finance Assistant role works closely with other finance team members and provides essential operational support.

About You
To succeed as a Finance Assistant, you will have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role
- Strong Excel skills (including formulas and lookups)
- Confidence communicating with internal teams and customers
- A practical understanding of accounting fundamentals
