JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Finance Assistant
Reporting to: Transaction and Management Accounting Manager
Department: Finance
Location: Rainham, Essex
Work Pattern: 37.5 Hours Monday - Friday
6 month fixed term contract
Overall purpose of job
This is a key role within Ebro UK’s Finance back office team, and is responsible for day to day banking management, petty cash processing, UK and foreign payments, rice import payments, employee expenses, and all aspects of accounts payable from invoice matching, supplier payments (BACS / CHAPS), statement reconciliations, ledger reconciliations at month end, query management, and internal AP liaison.

Key areas of responsibility
- Managing and processing Petty Cash
- Processing UK Payments – CHAPS and BACS - Weekly
- Processing Foreign payments – CHAPS - Weekly
- Daily and monthly reconciliation of bank financing facility
- Reconciliation of Inter Company Financing Accounts
- Monthly bank Reconciliations / revaluations
- Processing of DD invoices
- Daily posting of cash entries to a strict timeline
- Processing of Employee Expenses and Credit Cards
- Perform part of the management accounts close
- Prepare and update cashflow
- Invoice Processing (Matching to goods receipts and PO’s)
- Timely query resolution
- Internal liaison with PO raisers and managers
- Supplier Statement Reconciliation
- Monthly balance sheet controls reconciliation
- Month end reporting as required
- Other adhoc tasks as required

Person specification
This role is for a keen and diligent person who has a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn and be flexible.
Qualifications/Experience required
The person employed in this role has to have the utmost integrity, and a very clear eye for detail. This is a responsible position, where deadlines can often be key, so the successful applicant needs to be comfortable with handling a busy role, whilst ensuring accuracy.
The person must also be comfortable with using Excel.
