Finance Assistant

A fantastic opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join a busy finance team. This role is ideal for someone with previous bookkeeping or finance administration experience who is looking to broaden their exposure across purchase ledger, sales ledger and month-end finance activities while developing their career within a supportive and growing organisation.

The Role

This is a varied Finance Assistant position supporting the smooth running of finance operations across the business.

  • Processing supplier invoices and managing payment activities.
  • Supporting sales invoicing and credit control processes.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ledger postings.
  • Assisting with month-end finance tasks and reconciliations.
  • Providing general support to the wider finance team.

Main Duties

  • Working closely with finance colleagues, you will assist with a broad range of transactional finance activities.
  • Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice queries.
  • Support the preparation and raising of sales invoices.
  • Assist with debtor management and overdue payment follow-up.
  • Post journals and support balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes.

The Successful Candidate

  • Previous experience in a bookkeeping, accounts assistant or finance administration role.
  • Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive team player with strong communication and organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Working towards or part-qualified in AAT, CPA, CMA or a similar finance qualification.
  • Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or Xero.
  • Exposure to month-end finance processes and reconciliations.
