Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant looking for a role where you can take real ownership of your work and gain exposure to a broad range of finance activities?
We are delighted to be supporting a successful and growing business in the appointment of an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, collaborative finance function and play a key role in supporting the continued development of the in-house finance operations. You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders, internal teams and external service providers across multiple offices.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of a broad range of day-to-day finance processing and administration activities, helping to ensure accurate accounting records and robust financial controls across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the end-to-end supplier invoice authorisation process across the UK and overseas offices
- Reviewing invoices for accuracy, correct coding and appropriate supporting documentation
- Processing and reviewing employee expenses in line with company policies
- Managing company credit card transactions and preparing monthly reconciliations
- Supporting the preparation and raising of accurate sales invoices
- Validating billing information, including legal entity details, VAT numbers and billing contacts
- Monitoring daily cash balances and preparing short-term cash summaries
- Supporting intercompany transactions and transfers
- Liaising with overseas accountants and office managers
- Supporting audit requests and maintaining accurate financial records
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and controls
- Providing general support to the wider Finance team as required

About You
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented, with previous experience in a transactional finance or bookkeeping environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role
- Strong experience across transactional finance and bookkeeping
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong Excel skills
- Proficiency in Xero
- The ability to manage a varied workload and take ownership of your responsibilities
- Strong communication and time management skills
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team
- A proactive, trustworthy approach and a strong understanding of financial controls
