Job Description

The Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in MRTC’s financial operations, working closely with the finance team to process a wide range of accounting information, both accurately and efficiently, to support business growth and external compliance.

Role Expectation

The Finance Assistant is responsible for processing purchase and sales ledger invoices, reconciling credit card and multi-currency bank accounts, and processing multiple monthly payrolls. They respond to enquiries, gathering relevant information, and prepare accurate reports to support the wider business needs. As part of MRTC’s Finance Department, based at Stanford House, the role requires diligence and adaptability, utilising Sage software and a specialist order-quoting and processing system.

Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and reconciling to supplier statements.
  • Processing sales ledger invoices and producing customer statements.
  • Liaising with internal departments for supporting accounting information.
  • Reconciling credit card and multi-currency bank accounts.
  • Processing monthly payroll using Sage 50 Payroll.
  • Assisting internal departments with financial queries.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the wider finance team.
  • Filing and organising company financial documentation.
  • Carrying out additional administrative tasks, where required.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in accounts production and payroll.
  • Experience with Sage 50 Accounts, Sage 50 Payroll, and Xero.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to learn and adopt new processes quickly and efficiently.
