Finance Assistant
Location: Tamworth
Salary: Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits
Contract Type: Permanent – 37.5 Hours per week
Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking for a role where you can make a real impact, develop your skills, and build a long-term career in accounting and finance?
At Lovell, we're looking for a motivated Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of finance activities, work closely with experienced finance leaders, and receive support towards a professional qualification such as CIMA or ACCA.
What you'll be doing
As a Finance Assistant, you'll support the Finance Business Partner and wider Finance team with a variety of financial reporting and accounting activities. This includes:
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end reporting
- Producing financial reports
- Supporting customer credit checks and tender submissions
- Helping to monitor cash receipts and achieve monthly cash targets
You'll also:
- Maintain fixed asset records
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Manage invoice registers
- Support the external audit process
- Assist with Anaplan administration
- Respond to user queries
- Contribute to finance projects and process improvements that help drive efficiency and add value across the business

What we're looking for
We're keen to hear from ambitious individuals who are eager to build a successful career in finance.
You'll ideally have:
- A degree (2:1 or above) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related subject, or an AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis
- The ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A genuine interest in progressing towards a professional accounting qualification
