This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong finance experience who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Controller, you'll play a key role in supporting the finance function across a broad range of transactional and management accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts and reporting.
  • Manage the sales ledger and credit control process.
  • Complete daily bank receipt postings and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Post journals accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as required.
  • Provide support on finance projects and other ad hoc tasks.
  • Support payroll activities where required (payroll experience is advantageous but not essential).

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
  • An AAT qualification (or be working towards one).
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting software.
  • A good understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the business.
