At Pets at Home, our Veterinary Business is on an exciting growth journey, now supporting over 450 practices nationwide. We’re looking for a Financial Compliance & Reporting Accountant to join our friendly, high-performing finance team and play a key role in shaping the future of our reporting and compliance landscape.

About the Role
The role offers hybrid working (two office days per week) from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting & Compliance, you will:
- Lead and develop a team of 3 assistant accountants
- Oversee statutory reporting for 400+ joint venture practices (FRS 102) and group-managed entities (FRS 101)
- Review and prepare financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage audits for Vet Group subsidiaries and act as a key contact for external auditors
- Drive technical accounting projects, including IFRS 16 implementation
- Maintain and evolve the Vet Business accounting manual and best practices
- Support audits, ONS reporting and ad-hoc finance initiatives

About You
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA)
- Strong experience in financial reporting and statutory accounts
- Solid knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS (incl. IFRS 9, 15, 16)
- Experience in practice or a similar reporting-driven environment
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Proven leadership and the ability to influence across teams
