Role purpose
We are looking to recruit a Financial Control Assistant in our Newcastle office.
This is a temporary role (18 months) working in the Financial Accounting and Control Team of the Finance Department. We are looking for a driven individual with excellent attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing reconciliations of source systems to accounting systems (SUN & SAGE), bank and expense reconciliations, and clearing control accounts as well as other ad hoc duties.
This would be a good first step into gaining experience of the work of financial accountants.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reconciliation of source systems to accounting systems
- Certify expenses reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations
- Agreeing cashbook balances to bank statements
- Clearing the suspense banking ledgers
- Updating cash records
- Agreeing quarterly reports to ledgers
- Reviewing ledger for all required analysis

About you - Skills/Qualifications/Experience
Essential
- Strong attention to detail
- Good knowledge of Excel
- IT literate with ability to adapt to new systems
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Team player

Salary from £27,000, depending on experience
