Financial Control Manager 📍 Hybrid Working | UK Fintech Bank £80,000 - £100,000 + Benefits & Bonus
I'm delighted to be partnering with a rapidly growing fintech bank that combines innovative technology with exceptional customer service. As the business continues to scale, they are seeking an experienced Financial Control Manager to join their Finance team and play a key role in strengthening the financial control environment while supporting the continued growth of the organisation
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys operating at the intersection of financial control, reporting, governance, process improvement, and team leadership.
You'll take ownership of key financial control activities, ensuring the integrity of financial information, maintaining a robust control framework, and delivering accurate and timely reporting. You'll also lead a small team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and help build a scalable finance function capable of supporting future growth.
What You'll Be Doing
Financial Control & Governance -Maintain and enhance a robust financial control framework across the finance function. -Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, control account reviews, and financial integrity processes. -Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. -Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks through strong governance and controls

Financial Reporting -Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, and adjustments. -Deliver accurate financial reporting, management information, and analysis to support decision-making.-Provide insight into financial performance, trends, and key business drivers. -Support audit processes and act as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Transformation -Drive process optimisation, automation, and efficiency improvements across finance operations.-Support finance transformation initiatives and systems enhancements. -Continuously review processes to improve scalability while maintaining a strong control environment.
Leadership & Business Partnering -Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team. -Build strong working relationships across Finance, Treasury, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams. -Act as a trusted finance partner, providing support and challenge to stakeholders across the business. -Contribute to strategic projects and initiatives that support business growth.

What We're Looking For
Qualifications -ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification. -Strong technical accounting and financial control expertise.
Experience -Experience within banking, fintech, financial services, or another regulated e nvironment. -Proven experience in financial control, finance operations, or accounting leader ship roles. -Strong understanding of financial reporting, balance sheet management, and month-end -close processes. -Experience improving controls, driving process enhancements, or supporting finance transformation initiatives. -Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing stakeholder relationships across multiple business areas.
Skills -Strong financial control and governance expertise. -Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. -Advanced Excel skills and strong knowledge of financial systems. -Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. -Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and high-growth environment.
