A rapidly scaling startup that is changing the game with cutting edge technology and engineering has an opening for a Financial Controller to join the team in Stockton-On-Tees, Teesside on a hybrid basis.

The Role
As the new Financial Controller, you will step into a highly practical, hands on position, working closely with the CFO and wider teams across the business to maintain finance and accounting records, lead the daily, monthly and quarterly processes as well as supporting the CFO with company strategic rollout. Duties include:
- Monthly and Quarterly Finance Oversight: Managing the entire monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
- Governance: Keeping a tight grip on balance sheet controls and building internal governance processes and financial policies
- Compliance: Steering the preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP and completing year end audits and tax submissions like VAT and Corporation Tax
- Cash Management: Taking a lead on short and long term cash flow forecasting by creating detailed, integrated models that reflect all group activities
- Transactional Leadership: Supervising daily transactional processing, including payroll, fixed assets, and ledgers
- Tech Transformation: Supporting the upgrade of finance systems, including rolling out cloud ERP software and using AI tools
- Strategic Insight: Providing top tier financial analysis to help the leadership team make smart operational and commercial decisions
- Leadership Support: Stepping up to cover and support the CFO on daily financial operations whenever needed

Who You Are
The leadership team are looking for a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) who loves a fast paced workplace and gets excited about using digital tools to boost accuracy and efficiency.

To smash this role, you will need:
- A full ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
- Solid experience working as a Financial Controller or similar
- Strong financial modelling skills and advanced knowledge of Excel
- A proven track record of automating workflows and improving processes
- Experience of working within a manufacturing, fabrication or engineering environment (or similar)
- To be willing to work on a hybrid basis visiting HQ in Stockton-On-Tees
