About the Role
Enjoy the opportunity to shape the finance function within a business that's investing heavily in its future. As Financial Controller, you'll be at the heart of financial management, ensuring strong governance while delivering the insight that supports strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.
Located in East Kilbride, this is a permanent, full-time office-based position where you'll work alongside senior stakeholders, helping to strengthen financial performance and enhance processes as the business continues to expand.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation entering an exciting new phase of growth. Following a recent acquisition, the business is continuing to broaden its footprint, looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to lead day-to-day finance operations and provide accurate financial information that supports informed business decisions. You'll take ownership of financial reporting, maintain robust controls, and partner with teams across the organisation to drive efficiency and support ongoing expansion.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the Finance team, promoting continuous improvement and best practice
- Oversee the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Ensure the smooth running of purchase and sales ledger functions
- Manage supplier payments, customer invoicing, and credit control activities
- Complete bank, supplier, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with payroll processing and CIS administration
- Prepare VAT returns and other statutory submissions
- Monitor project profitability, reporting on margins and accrued income
Requirements
- Previous experience in a hands-on finance manager or senior finance position, with responsibility for month-end reporting
- Strong accounting systems experience; knowledge of Xero is advantageous
- Advanced Excel skills and excellent analytical ability
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator who can build effective working relationships across the business
- Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines

Desirable
- Qualified accountant or qualified by experience
- Ability to be hands-on while contributing to the commercial aspects of the business
- Familiarity with ERP or project costing systems
