Jo Holdsworth Recruitment are excited to be partnering with a highly successful, international professional services organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Controller.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional to join a growing and ambitious business with a global footprint. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the finance function.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, maintaining strong controls and processes, and providing high-quality financial information to support strategic decision-making. You will lead a finance team, work closely with senior stakeholders, and contribute to the ongoing development of systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal postings. Oversee group financial reporting and consolidation activities. Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Provide financial insights and reporting to senior leadership. Budgeting & Forecasting Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Collaborate with finance colleagues and business leaders to ensure accurate financial planning. Assist in monitoring performance against budgets and forecasts. Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions. Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial governance frameworks. Manage relationships with external auditors and support audit processes. Cashflow & Financial Management Support effective cashflow management and treasury activities. Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance. Support succession planning and team development initiatives. Systems & Process Improvement Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting, and processes. Support automation and efficiency projects across the finance function. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.

About You
We are looking for a qualified finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Essential Requirements
ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification. Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager, or similar leadership role. Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise. Experience managing and developing finance teams. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with finance systems. Experience operating within an international business environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Desirable
Experience within professional services or partnership environments. Previous exposure to private equity-backed organisations. Experience of finance transformation, systems implementation, or process improvement projects.
