SUMMARY

As the UK-based Global Financial Controller, you will be a key leader within the finance function, overseeing and optimising financial operations across our international entities. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy while ensuring strong governance, technical excellence, and financial integrity across the Group.

You will lead a team of three finance professionals and work closely with in-country finance contacts to ensure consistency, compliance, and best-in-class financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Partner with the CFO and senior leadership team to support and execute global financial strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Provide clear financial insight, analysis, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Contribute to the continuous strengthening of the global finance function

Accounting Operations

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all international entities
  • Ensure timely and accurate consolidation of multi-entity, multi-currency results
  • Oversee inventory accounting, costing models, and margin analysis where applicable
  • Ensure robust balance sheet control and reconciliation processes

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with UK GAAP / IFRS and US GAAP where applicable
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, VAT/GST, and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions
  • Maintain strong oversight of intercompany transactions and transfer pricing compliance

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Partner with the FP&A function to support the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Provide key financial data, insight, and variance analysis to support performance management

Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain a robust global internal control framework
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate financial and operational risks
  • Ensure appropriate governance as the business scales internationally

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three finance professionals
  • Foster a high-performance culture centred on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Support development of international finance contacts to drive global consistency

Financial Systems & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and processes to improve efficiency and data integrity
  • Drive standardisation of accounting policies and procedures across entities
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function

Audit Management

  • Coordinate and manage external audits across jurisdictions
  • Address audit findings and ensure continuous improvement in audit readiness
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or international equivalent such as CPA)
  • Significant progressive experience in senior financial control or global finance roles
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS and US GAAP
  • Proven experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams
  • Strong technical accounting research capability and ability to implement new standards
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across international teams and cultures
