🚨 We're Growing... and We're Looking for an Exceptional Financial Controller! 🚨
Not every Financial Controller role is about keeping the lights on.
This one is about building, influencing, and driving growth.
At Express Concrete Ltd, we're entering an exciting new phase. As one of the fastest-growing divisions within the Cappagh Group, we are expanding our network of BSI-approved ready-mix concrete plants across London.
Now we're looking for a strategic, hands-on Financial Controller to join our leadership team at our Head Office in Wimbledon (SW17).
💥 This isn't your average finance role.
You'll be responsible for:
- Full ownership of month-end close, management accounts, and group reporting
- Managing and improving financial processes across multiple entities
- Leading credit control, cash flow management, and financial controls
- Commercial analysis including fleet costs, raw material margins, and CapEx planning
- Developing and leading our transactional finance team

Who we're looking for
- Strong Accounting and Finance skills, with experience managing general ledger processes and financial controls.
- Proficiency in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, including preparation of management accounts and statutory accounts.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills for budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and supporting data-driven decisions.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience, with solid knowledge of UK accounting standards.
- Experience in industry or construction-related environments is beneficial, including familiarity with cost control and project-based finance.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Excel, with the ability to improve processes and reporting efficiency.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with operational and leadership teams.
- Proven capability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy and integrity in all financial activities.
