Some Financial Controller roles are about maintaining the status quo. This isn't one of them.
Eaton Syalon is partnering with a highly respected, values led organisation entering an exciting period of growth and transformation. As they continue to invest in their people, systems and future strategy, they're looking to appoint a commercially minded Financial Controller who wants to make a genuine impact.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this is a newly created leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the finance function, strengthen commercial insight and help drive better decision making across the organisation.
You'll work closely with senior leaders, influence strategic decisions and play a key role in modernising reporting, improving processes and developing a high-performing finance team.
If you enjoy combining strong financial control with commercial business partnering and continuous improvement, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
The Opportunity
You'll take ownership of the day to day finance function whilst helping to shape its future.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
