Financial Controller
Location: London (Hybrid)
About us
At Lenkie, we're passionate about helping small businesses turn their big ambitions into reality. Our lending products reduce the friction involved in accessing finance and through our powerful cash flow management platform we empower small and medium-sized businesses to succeed. We have supported hundreds of SMEs across the UK with £100M+ funding.
We are a friendly and collaborative team with a fast-paced and high-performing culture. We are a fintech headquartered in London but have a distributed team across Nigeria, South Africa, and London. We're backed by world-class investors and since closing a £49M debt and equity Series A we have scaled our loan book by 5x in the last year.
About the role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our growing finance function. This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified chartered accountant who has spent time in an operational finance role and is now ready to take on greater ownership and responsibility in a fast-moving fintech environment. You will work closely with senior leadership, supporting financial reporting, controls, and day-to-day finance operations — with real scope to grow as the business scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
