Financial Controller - Q

The Opportunity
This is a critical leadership role responsible for the comprehensive management, reporting, and analysis of the Group’s non-headcount costs. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and managing a team of regional Finance Managers, the successful candidate will:
- Own the non-headcount cost P&L
- Ensure statutory and audit compliance
- Drive process improvements across the financial and reporting teams
Ideal for a qualified accountant with experience in a high-growth environment, ready to take on a key leadership position within our finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Analysis
- Take full ownership of the Group’s non-headcount cost P&L statements.
- Perform and present detailed P&L analysis, including:
- Month-on-Month reviews
- Year-on-Year trends
- Budget vs. Actual variance reporting
- Prepare and deliver insightful MI (Management Information) packs with clear commentary to support strategic business decisions.
- Prepare project accounting reports and conduct ad-hoc cost analyses as required.
Month-End Close & Reporting
- Manage the end-to-end month-end close process for all non-headcount cost areas across the Group.
- Oversee systems and process efficiency, ensuring accuracy in reporting.
- Ensure timely delivery of monthly cost reporting packs to regional stakeholders.
Statutory, Tax & Audit
- Oversee timely and accurate delivery of the following:
- Local audits (where applicable)
- Corporate tax returns
- Sales tax filings
- Work with regional Finance Managers to:
- Prepare and review required information for statutory filings.
- Develop training programs to build a strong financial talent pipeline.
- Support the Group audit process concerning:
- Non-headcount cost areas.
- Related balance sheet accounts.
- Direct liaison with external auditors.

Technical Accounting & Control
- Serve as a key technical accounting resource for the finance team.
- Lead the implementation of:
- Group transfer pricing adjustments.
- Process automation opportunities.
- Play a central role in strengthened internal controls and compliance (including potential SOX readiness).
- Support the design, implementation, and documentation of:
- Financial controls.
- Non-headcount cost processes.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of regional Finance Managers.
- Foster a high-performance culture with:
- Continuous training and career development.
- Build a strong future talent pipeline for the organisation.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary financial partner to stakeholders, providing:
- Guidance on non-headcount cost management.
- Collaborate with:
- Group Revenue Controller
- Compensation Controller
- AP Manager
- Ensure a cohesive view of Group performance across finance teams.
- Support other departments by understanding operations and:
- Aiding financial objective achievement.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Currently performing at Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior Finance Manager level.
- Essential:
- Demonstratable experience in a high-growth, scaling company.
- Ability to effect financial process changes.
- Leadership:
- Proven track record in team development.
- Commitment to nurturing talent.
- Technical accounting knowledge:
- Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance.
- Experience with:
- Multi-entity and intercompany accounting.
- Transfer pricing (desirable).
Technical & System Proficiencies
- Essential: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Highly desirable: Experience with NetSuite.
- Useful: Familiarity with the following systems:
- Financial Close: FloQast
- FP&A / Reporting: DataRails
- T&E / Spend Management: Expensify, Navan
Soft Skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication to present financial insights clearly.
- Proactive, solution-focused mindset.
