Finance Manager / Controller

Brentford, West London

Salary: Up to £65,000

ENB are working with an established and growing construction services business (t/o £40m) in West London that's looking for an experienced Finance Controller to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll play a key role in both the day-to-day running of the finance function and the wider strategic direction of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, improving processes and making a real impact.

If you're proactive, hands on and looking for a role where your ideas will be valued, you should consider this opening.

You will be leading a team of five within the finance department while working closely with the Finance Director across all areas of financial management, reporting and business improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing accurate monthly management accounts.
  • Reconciling all balance sheet accounts each month.
  • Overseeing weekly payroll and client invoicing to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Managing weekly supplier payment runs.
  • Ensuring VAT, PAYE, CIS and Corporation Tax returns are completed accurately and on time.
  • Managing bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting process.
  • Supporting the year end accounts and annual audit.
  • Managing the fixed asset register, including the company vehicle fleet.
  • Maintaining the Hire Purchase schedule and recording interest payments.
  • Producing ad hoc reports and analysis for the Finance Director.
  • Helping to review and improve financial processes, controls and efficiencies across the business.

We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, leading a team and driving continuous improvement.

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or in a senior finance position.
  • Experience leading or managing a finance team.
  • ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be actively studying towards qualification).
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience using Sage 50 Cloud (advantageous but not essential).
