Financial Controller

Financial Controller – Orbital

Orbital is an AI-first industrial company building hardware from the atoms up. Our goal is to lead an industrial renaissance, advancing critical technologies and securing our planet for generations to come.

We’re starting with critical hardware for AI data centers—making them more performant and sustainable. Every Orbital product is invented with our AI platform, uniting AI-automated hardware engineering with AI-designed material science to achieve real-world breakthroughs.

We’re (AI research, operations, advanced materials, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and manufacturing) a team looking to build the future. Join us if you have a love of physical technology, curiosity about AI, and a desire to learn.

About the Role

Orbital is looking for its first Financial Controller to build and own the company’s scalable finance function from the ground up, supporting operations across the UK, US, and Canada.

As CFO’s right hand, this role will:

  • Lead and shape Orbital’s accounting systems, controls, and reporting to fuel rapid growth.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on financial strategy, fundraising, M&A, and IPO preparations.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the finance engine of the first AI industrial company.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Operations

  • Own and manage daily financial operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closures.
  • Ensure accurate consolidation of accounts across UK, US, and Canada.
  • Deliver time-sensitive, high-quality financial results.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
