Financial Controller - Telford | Manufacturing Environment | Senior Leadership Team
£65,000 to £75,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
Are you a commercially minded Financial Controller looking for a role where you can genuinely influence the direction of a business?
We're exclusively recruiting for a key leadership position within a well-established international manufacturing business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the UK Senior Management Team, this is a broad and highly visible role that combines financial leadership, commercial partnering, governance, and strategic decision-making. This is far more than a traditional Financial Controller position. You'll be a trusted adviser to the leadership team, helping drive performance, improve profitability, support growth initiatives, and ensure robust financial and regulatory compliance across the UK operation.
The Opportunity
You'll take full ownership of the UK finance function while leading a small Finance and IT team. Key responsibilities will include:
- Financial reporting, controls and compliance
- Budgeting, forecasting and long-term strategic planning
- Cashflow, treasury, banking and working capital management
- Standard costing, manufacturing performance analysis and investment appraisals
- Commercial pricing, tender reviews and business partnering
- UK statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance
- Company Secretarial responsibilities and corporate governance
- Driving process improvement, automation and stronger financial insights
- Supporting operational, supply chain and commercial leaders across the business

As a member of the senior leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping business decisions and helping the organisation achieve its strategic objectives.
About You
We're keen to speak with qualified finance professionals who can operate both strategically and hands-on.
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or similar leadership role
- Strong manufacturing sector experience
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, management accounts and statutory reporting
- Experience managing audits, compliance and financial controls
- ERP system experience (SAP advantageous)
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience within an international or multinational business environment
- Most importantly, you'll be a proactive leader who enjoys being close to the business, challenging convention and helping drive continuous improvement.
