Alexander Daniels have been exclusively retained to recruit an exciting Financial Controller/ Future Finance Director for this exclusive business based in the East Midlands | OTE c.£100k + Bonus
A high-growth, premium consumer business is seeking an ambitious Finance Manager to join its senior leadership team during an exciting period of transformation and growth. Operating nationally within a fast-paced, stock-intensive environment, the business has built a strong market position and is now investing heavily in systems, reporting, operational excellence and future scalability. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to move beyond traditional reporting and become a genuine business partner, influencing strategic decisions, improving performance and helping shape the future direction of the organisation.
The Opportunity Reporting directly into the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in building a modern, commercially focused finance function capable of supporting continued growth and improved business performance. This role would suit a qualified accountant who thrives in entrepreneurial environments, enjoys operational involvement and wants a clear pathway towards Finance Director-level responsibility.

Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day finance operations Own monthly management accounts and performance reporting Develop meaningful commercial reporting and KPI dashboards Manage cash flow, working capital and lender relationships Partner with operational and commercial teams to drive profitability Improve reporting quality, speed and visibility Support pricing, stock management and margin optimisation initiatives Lead process improvement and finance transformation projects Oversee year-end, audit and compliance activities Deliver insight and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Essential: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified Experience within an SME, entrepreneurial or high-growth business Strong commercial mindset Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability Proven experience producing management accounts and management information Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Hands-on, proactive and solutions-focused
Highly Desirable: Experience within retail, automotive, distribution or stock-based businesses Exposure to finance transformation or operational improvement projects Power BI, dashboarding or reporting systems experience PE-backed or founder-led business exposure Strong business partnering capability
